We work for our deep belief in the ability of women graduates to be an active partner in building society and achieving sustainable development. Hence, the association has become a supportive platform that invests in the energies of female graduates from various disciplines and provides them with a stimulating environment for growth and development.

The Society of Women Graduates

The Society of Women Graduates (SWG) is an independent, non-profit and non-governmental organization. SWG was established in Gaza in 1974 and is registered in the Ministry of Interior under number 1902 and the Ministry of Social Development under number 1168. It is one of the leading associations in the field of empowering women graduates across the Gaza Strip, being the only association representing women graduates in the region.

SWG aims to improve the life quality for women graduates who face dual marginalization and to empower them to play a positive role in the development of Palestinian society. For over 49 years, the association has successfully provided specialized services to graduates and has built numerous partnerships with international and local organizations in its field to achieve the desired change at both the individual and societal levels. It is dedicated to serving women graduates and their families.

Institution's Mission

The Society of Women Graduates in the Gaza Strip is a rights-based, independent, non-governmental, and non-profit organization. It aims to empower women graduates through capacity building, skills rehabilitation, education, employment, awareness-raising, and advocacy for their rights by establishing local, regional, and international partnerships.

Through these vehicles, we seek to

  • Bring together educated women in the Gaza Strip.
  • Encourage scientific thinking and research among women graduates.
  • Empower women graduates in the cultural, social, legal, and developmental fields.
  • Utilize free time through constructive recreational activities.
  • Provide employment opportunities for women graduates.
  • Support the families of women graduates in need.
